Data on Telephone connections during July, 2010.

For the month of July 2010, 1 Crore 69 Lakhs and 20 Thousand new Mobile connections have been activated.  The trend of more than 1 Crore Mobile connections per month continues in India in the recent months.  By the end of July 2010, the total number of Telephone connections is 68.838 Crores.  In this figure, the Mobile Phone connection is 65.242 Crores.  Among this, the new Mobile Phone connection is 1.692 Crores.  The T.R.A.I. or Telephone Regulatory Authority of India has announced that out 100 people 58.17 persons are having Mobile Phone connection.  As far as the Telecom companies are concerned, the first three places in new Mobile Phone connections goes to: 1. Bharthi [15.37%], 2. Reliance [14.84%] and 3. Vodafone [14.21%].  Though the Tata Tele Services have introduced many new tariff schemes, it continues to be in fourth place with 13.69% growth.
